To be able to play the game with a Pro Controller, you will need to open Big Picture mode (one of the icons in the top right of the Steam window), plug in the Pro Controller, then go to settings > controller > controller settings, then enabling "Switch Pro Configuration Support" . As a standard setting, the game will not read inputs from steam
PC and PS-controllers just don't work too well while Xbox is plug in and play. You can plug in a ps4 controller and it'll work just fine. Proper button prompts too. Yeah but you can bluetooth a Xbox controller without issues, with cable ps4 finally works well with Windows 10.
x360ce fix for Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed II. This fix was made by Khemitude and originally downloaded from FilePlanet. The original RAR archive has been repackaged as Zip.
In the in-game controls settings, the controller is detected as "Wireless Controller". I need to press square (X on Xbox) to press X (A on Xbox), triangle (Y on Xbox) to press circle (B on Xbox), the Dpad doesn't work correctly, the triggers don't work, etc. When launching AC2 via Steam and trying to let Steam do the controller support, it just

That should have the correct default bindings when you set your control input to “Xbox 360 for Windows”. Older AC games have this problem for some reason. AC1-Syndicate have done this for me youre gonna have to go into the ini file for it to change the buttons manually. when you find the ini file change them to this.
Fix Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Controller Issues. Before we start with the main troubleshooting, let’s try the most basic method to fix this issue. Depending on which controller you are using to play Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, make sure that the controller support is enabled on your PC. Update Your Controller Drivers
I switched to InputMapper and it actually tricks your PC into thinking it's a 360 Controller, so the Xbox Icons will show up in the controls. Try InputMapper if you haven't already. InputMapper will let you use your DS4 as a 360 Controller. A = X, B = O and so forth. Windows doesn't have native DS4 support, so there are no PS4 controller icons.
Yes. You just have to choose it as a controller in the options and then you're good. With one noted exception, the controls are tied to the profile so until that has loaded you're on kb/mouse. I'm using the wired controller and the triggers work fine without any remapping. Post edited April 09, 2012 by jema.
Double tap the screen, it'll ask you to create a profile so press the Steam button and 'X' to bring up the keyboard. Enter a name, then press on 'options' on screen, then controller. Change this from keyboard to Xbox 360 controller. This is the correct answer. This worked for me.
